Just got a Seemecnc h1 used. came with two four axis cards and a three. the guy thought he may have fried the three but that the two fours were good. so here is the issue, have all the steppers hooked up to do a test with mach3. steppers hum/get warm. they react when the drivers are updated on the pc but cannot get mach 3 to take control. any ideas on what to look for or where to start diagnosing?

Welcome crash!

First step is tell us what OS you are using, and is it 32 bit. Check out the mach forum here and go thru all the ports and pins setup to make sure they are correct, there are some profiles you can download and try as a baseline, make aure they are for the 4 axis cards, and use one of those

I have Windows Server 08 at 32 bit, Using the SeeMeCNC-h1-4AxisBoard profile. Kinda a noob, got this as a step up from my arduinos. thanks for the reply.

Which seems to say that the Mach3 parallel port drivers won't get interrupt service under Windows 8. Since Win8 is still a pre-release OS, clearly nobody officially supports it yet. In the case of Mach3, it's pretty clear added support for Vista and Windows 7 64-bit systems (and apparently any brand of Windows 8) will never happen. It's all being deferred to Mach4, whenever that happens.

I have windows 8 triple booting on my computer and it doesn;t work , not enough support, duel boot linux for EMC2 or WinXP for Mach3
