PLA Jams
PLA Jams
Finally got my printer printing pretty good, now I have jams though since it now prints long enough for them to come up, I took the fan from the 4-axis board (replaced with a 5in fan so no overheating) Made a simple bracket out of sheet metal and pointed the fan at the PEEK, Still have jams though,is the fan not goo enough>?

Re: PLA Jams
You are probably running the extruder too hot. I usually raise the temp until the extruder just feeds the filament out the nozzle.
Then I add a few degrees to that number and I have my temp for PLA.

I agree with Michael, all the fan really has to do is disturb the air around the thermal break, it's not really providing cooling, just stopping convection from heating it.
