Anyone have their Tricklaser anti-lash straps pop off?
Anyone have their Tricklaser anti-lash straps pop off?
I installed the new arms and they're great, but from day one they won't stay on so I've just left them off. I'd like to have them on though. I just can't risk them popping off while I'm not looking and falling on top of the part while it's being printed. Has Anyone experienced this? I'm thinking about using heat shrink tube over the connector as a possible solution.

heat shrink won't be elastic enough to stay on and perform the expected function of the lash straps - print new connectors that are fractionally bigger and with more rasp on the teeth and install them - should sort it out

I just use rubber bands. It doesn't take a ton of force to get rid of all of the lash.

put a drop of super glue on the wood before reinserting it...

or just file the wood to have sharper edges.

Mine used to pop off,,, not anymore. I didn't add anything, just popped them back on. perhaps there was some sort of manufacturing lubricant inside the tube, and it eventually disappeared.

I wasn't going to replace the rubber with heat shrink tubing, I was only going to put it over the connector so that it put pressure on the teeth. I'll try just putting them back on for now since someone said theirs used to do it, but had stopped. Thanks for the replies and suggestions!Fabio wrote:heat shrink won't be elastic enough to stay on and perform the expected function of the lash straps - print new connectors that are fractionally bigger and with more rasp on the teeth and install them - should sort it out

I am also a member of the group who used super glue to hold the bands onto the wood,

Sorry you are having trouble. I use small zip ties over the barbed area if they come apart. CA glue works also. I wonder if the tubing size varies? I rarely see them coming apart.
Let me know how it goes.

I was thinking about zipties as well, but I think a small strip of heat shrink over the connection might work and might look cleaner -- or it won't work and I'll end up resorting to zip ties. Lol
I've just now put them back on for now to see if they continue to pop off since someone commented that theirs did the same at first, but then stayed put. I'll update if they come off again, and follow up with how whichever solution I choose works out. Even without the straps the arms made a world of difference. Thanks!
