Hello,

It has been a while since I used my max v2 but I am finally getting back into printing and am looking to make a few upgrades. I am looking to buy a e3d lite 6 and maybe upgrade the cheapskates to the new molded ones. My question for the e3d is will the mount for the full v6 version also work for the lite and is there anywhere the mount can be purchased? I know I could print it but I am having trouble with my print quality right now and I think I should make sure the mount is of good quality.

The lite should be fully compatible with the V6 mounting, since they use the same heatsink. SeemeCNC sells a laser cut mount for their end effector, http://seemecnc.com/collections/parts-a ... t-hot-ends, and there are also trick laser mounting plates available. I haven't used either personally, since I have a laser cutter of my own, but both are solid designs. For that matter, trick laser sells a lovely, lovely, all metal effector platform with a groove mount, although it may be a little pricey. Another thing that may help print quality is trick lasers carbon fiber arms, if you're willing to spend towards that. Anyways, best of luck with getting yours back into operation.

Is there a good place where the settings that need to be changed to accommodate the e3d lit6 can be found?

I think it's just the thermistor type. Updated via firmware.
Limit temperature is 245ºc, so pretty much like the stock hotend.

It's a different heatsink than the regular V6. The lite6 is steel instead of aluminum, is drilled for the bowden tube to go all the way through to the heater block, there's no detachable heatbreak, and the cooling fins have a different profile.

The mounting dimensions are identical, and the heater block assembly is identical (in fact, you can buy the lite6 with a V6 heatsink and heatbreak to make your own for cheaper than the V6 costs by itself)

Got the hotend put together and mounted but when I turn the printer on the temps read 366 and then go to def. Any ideas for what could be wrong / things I might have forgotten to do.

I just tried setting

EXT0_TEMPSENSOR_TYPE to 8 in the firmware but now I am getting a temp of 1000 before going to def.

Has anyone had this problem before and know of a solution. I ordered a new thermistor to try out but I don't think that is the problem.

Check it with an ohm meter, they're 100k ohm thermistors, so if you're not in that ballpark you've either got an open or a short or a bad thermistor. It can also be an intermittent connection at one of the wiring connectors.

Thanks for the help, I checked the thermistor with an ohm meter and it was right on so I started looking at my wiring again and found that I had somehow switched the power to the hotend with the thermister wires in my wiring overhaul. After switching those back everything is working well. I was able to to the pid tuning and extrude some filament. Now I am having problems with bed leveling calibration:
