BerryBod Carriages, effector and direct geared extruder.

For those who might be interested, in upgrading to the BerryBod magnetic arm system, you can purchase them at:

You have two options either to reuse the wheels and hardware from the V2 Max or OpenBuild parts. The upgrade is very well made, and there is a great difference in print quality from magnetic arm and direct extrusion. The magnetic arms are longer and the hot end is mounted under the effector, giving you ability to reach further on the build plate as well. You can also swap your hot end in seconds.

You've got the stepper, gearbox, and extruder directly coupled to the effector platform, eh? Are there any 'inertia artifacts' from throwing around that much weight? Are the magnets sufficiently strong to keep that from coming apart during rapid movements?

No inertia artifacts.
Magnets never dislodged even at high speed.

I'd love to see some pictures of the improved print quality, particularly some macro shots if you can manage it.

Sure, You can see one model that I printed in the MetalMax sub forum. I printed that model .2 layer height at 80mm/s. I took the picture with hard lighting so that you can see the layers well. If you want me to print out anything in particular let me know.
Here is as macro as I can go on my camera. sliced in S3D, .4 layer, PET+ at 90mm/s
