hi guys,

this is a little motor gen I made, has a jeweled watch bearing for the lower bearing and a sewing needle for the axle. 1/2 inch dia. round neo magnets. runs off microamps, currently running off a dead double a battery. been running 24 hrs, the dead battery has gone up .2 volts.

Nice. It is derived from one that was uploaded to thingiverse or instructables. It shows the Bedini effect where the coils moving past the permanent magnet produce a charging current. It will raise the voltage above the battery cutoff voltage but friction and I2R loss eventually drains the battery below cutoff voltage.

You should redesign the rotor to integrate a small vertical axis wind turbine into it, make it about a foot tall and see if you can charge batteries with it

yes this is a monopole derivative, the switching is different and the coils are different. John is a friend of mine, he and I have been working on this for a while.

so here is the fun stuff with this machine, because of the low friction co efficient, and the hi gauss of the neo and where its switching, it does charge the battery very slowly. I put a completely dead AA on it, blew on it for a few seconds and it sustained rotation, been running ever since. I need to add a resistor to it to bring the current down, I can get it to run on even less, but with the resistor the battery will die. the next iteration will have the fan blades will be integrated into the rotor and the stator will be slotted.

I do not have a good scope shot off the coil, it produces a sine wave.

its just a cool toy, but it is a great way to test coil configurations also.
