Found this thread while browsing thingiverse, then proceeded to get lost in it for about a half hour reading over the whole thing. Wicked cool design skills.

The guys who do props are insane - what great work!

This reminds me of the attention to detail that model railroad guys get into. They'll pick a specific line, a year and a month, and even pick out a real town and start scaling everything down to build one piece at a time. Some of them even walk up to locomotives with calipers so that they can divide it by 87 and recreate parts exactly...

I'm happy with smooth plastic that's all the same color :)

Yeah. Some people are very passionate that way.

My brother paints warhammer miniatures. The 1 inch or smaller lead figurines. He can spend more than 30 hours on a single figurine. I saw him use 3 different colors and brushes on one eye, which is the size of a spec of dust.
When on mobile I am brief and may be perceived as an arsl.
