Hot Power Cord.....

After building my Max V2 I noticed that the power cord that was shipped with the unit was getting quite warm during operation. I opened the cord and found a very cheaply made piece with very tiny conductors inside. I am estimating 18G wires but may have been smaller. Given the pull on this machine this is far from adequate. After switching out the cable for a heavy duty power cord, the warming stopped.
Even after changing out the power cable it was still not maintaining temperature and taking forever (35+ min) to get up to 90. I luckily had an Astec LPS255 laying around. https://www.artesyn.com/power/search/?s ... rch=LPS255 Even throttled back to 20V it now takes <8 minutes to get to 100 with lots of oomph to spare. They are a little on the pricey side and has a ton of bells and whistles that aren't necessary but works very well. Picture attached for the circuit porn crowd.
I am currently designing a fan shroud and PEM mount module for this. It actually came out of a larger piece of integrated equipment so it has neither.
Happy Printing.
