How to fix skipping stepper motor

If you look at the attached pictures, you will see a print where the top layers have shifted to one side. One picture shows the shifted print in detail; the other shows that the shift is precisely oriented towards one of the three belts and stepper motors.

I have moved the truck up and down but do not see an obvious mechanical problem.

Where would I find instructions for troubleshooting this. I imagine it is either the belt tension or perhaps the driver current.

One thing that'll cause a skip is an overheating stepper driver. Overheating can be a problem with the v1 if you don't have a fan on the RAMbo. Orange Menace is notorious for that so I've got a fan set on low aimed at the open electronics bay. Shield the build area if you're printing ABS.

Another possibility would be the pulley slipping on the motor shaft.
