Hello,
Keith here. I recently finished building my Rostock Max v2 as many before me have as well. I must say, for having limited experience with building anything or doing anything related to electronics and engineering, this was a fun and challenging adventure. I was very happy to see that all my hard work and terrible wiring paid off with 0 actual problems, fires or broken things other than having the newest version of Arduino not support the firmware which is a trivial issue at best. Aside from that, once assembled, calibration was easy, and once I figured out how to best adhere print jobs to the surface, everything runs great.
