While searching the web for aids to improve my printing I found this neat page.

but it is based on the Simplify3D software. and as a Novice I am having some problems linking up the needed things to tweak for a given problem... some are quite obvious, but others are less so for someone of extremely limited experience such as myself.

so I was wondering if any Matercontrol experts have considered doing either a full version for this software or perhaps providing an amended version of the original page if permission could be obtained from the owner.

Sadly, you get what you pay for. Mattercontrol is free, Simplify 3d is not. I got better results out of Repetier Host, and Slic3r then I did with Mattercontrol. I have since bout S3D, and only fire up RH/Slic3r when S3D fails.

I thought we were buying MC when we bought the kit... it looked to me from their web page that SeeMeCNC was one of the investors funding MC development.

so it is news to me that MC is Shareware I guess I need to go and donate i never use shareware that I have not made a donation to the developer

I am too much of a 3D novice to drop $150 on people that don't support the platform I use and have to learn on.

I have used simplify3d for 2 years. They do have the max listed as supported and have a good profile for it.
http://www.simplify3d.com/software/supported-printers . It is worth every cent. People spend money and time on a printer but don't think they should pay for supported software. Never figured that one out! A really good slicer program makes 3D life a lot easier.

I guess what I meant I saw the page where they say they support just about every printer I have heard of and many dozens that I haven't.

but to me that just looks like saying if you printer uses g code we support it...

for a beginner like me the security of providing a setup guide for their software for the Rostock Max V2 ( or even a setup guide for a generic Delta) would be a big boost in getting me as a customer as would a time limited trial period for their software package.
I sent them an email asking questions about this stuff so I expect I will get a reply in a few days when people return to work and perhaps they do have some sort of hardware setup guide for deltas just not published.

I use S3D, have for about a year. Delta setup consists of selecting Rostock Max v2 from the menu.

Well That helps but for me it comes down to seeing if they will do a 30 day trial or refund in any way if it is not working for me.

the less than stellar implementation of standard OS X user interface by the Mater Control folks has me a bit cautious with a lot of 3D printing software with the history of the movement so highly tied to Microsoft and then Linux

S3D works fine on a Mac, it did go through a phase where the coms were unreliable, but that's probably fixed.
I own it, I rarely use it, when I do I usually generate GCode and print from Repetier host.
As to if it's worth it, I own it and IMO it offers little over the free slicers, but that's not the general consensus on the board.
I also own KiSSLicer, which is my go to Slicer. The free version of KiSSLicer has pretty much every feature, most people will use, I only bought it because I use it.

Have you found the Kindle textbook "3D Printing With MatterControl" by Joan Horvath & Rich Cameron yet? It's solved quite a few interface problems for me...
