3D model of a 3D printer

In starting to design a couple of customized parts for my Max v2, I came across the thought that it would be a lot easier to make accurate parts if I actually had a 3D model of the printer itself. I downloaded the master files, and there are cad drawings and stl parts in there, but it's still going to take awhile to build one on the screen from that. Are you all aware of someone who has already done this?

I know there's at least the majority of one on here somewhere. I personally have preferred to come up with cardboard/plasticard prototypes for test fitting, since I'm not a great CAD guy. I may have a copy of it. If I do, I'll let you know.

This might help, looks like a few options throughout the topic.

I used DesignSpark to combine their STLs into an assembly a couple months back. It actually wasn't terrible because their files all had the XYZ coordinates for their location in the assembly already, I just had to open all of them and repair a few.

I was originally going to share it somewhere, because I knew that somebody else would find it handy, but then I felt weird that they weren't my own designs so I hesitated. So I guess let it be known that these are entirely SeeMeCNC's files, slightly modified to fix faceting errors and the like. I don't own them, but they are part of the open source data that they've uploaded publicly to GitHub. Please consult the licensing information there and proceed informed.

Cheers.

Jim

Thanks for the STL file Jim, I also downloaded it. Good job!
