[SOLVED] Z Height Zero Changes After Home

Today I turned on my Rostock Max v2 (latest and greatest with the new cheapskates and all), homed the axes and zero'd the Z-axis. I then sent the nozzle back to the zero I had made and it was no longer the same zero I had just set. I re-zero and find that the 0.00 mark was raised by 0.22. I home and send to 0 again and same thing.
I plan on running a calibration cube once I get back from an event; I'll post the results here, but I wanted a first-look opinion. At first I think maybe my steps per mm needs tuning, but even if that was the case it should still zero to the same point, because it homed at the same point.
Any ideas as to why my zero is moving up after I home the axes?
EDIT: I took some good advice and reviewed my Zmax setting in EEPROM and increased it by the offset I was noticing. Now my zero stays put, even on reboot. Thanks!
