Just got an interesting email from Filastruder:

The pricing is quite reasonable, and they ship from the US. The only issue I see is that their PanelDue offering requires you to get the LCD separately.
Filastruder is now carrying Duet + accessories
Re: Filastruder is now carrying Duet + accessories
I've read that someone is working on Duet support for the 20x4 LCDs that are used in the Rostock MAX.

Filastruder is also working on getting the 7" displays and cables, it will take some time to arrange and get inventory.
I think I'll wait. I am not a fan of ordering from China, waiting a month and then find out the part I ordered is broken.
Been there, done that.

I too prefer to support the manufactures directly that are in north america or the north american dealers that hold inventory and can provide support and I don't mind paying a fair markup to them for their services. in this case I do plan to move my electronics over to the Duet combo and perhaps use the existing gear in the MaxV2 to build a small delta from scratch rather than go with another kit. but I see this as more of a plan for late spring or the summer. Or as we say here in Maine, Mud season and Black fly season.Eaglezsoar wrote:Filastruder is also working on getting the 7" displays and cables, it will take some time to arrange and get inventory.

All that said, I am not averse to buying from an outfit like BondTech directly in Sweden when I read here of problems of their north american stockiest in getting up to speed with their product.

I 100% agree. There are times when I will use overseas companies like Bondtech because of problems from the American distributor, which I did have in the case of Bondtech in the USA.Windshadow wrote:I too prefer to support the manufactures directly that are in north america or the north american dealers that hold inventory and can provide support and I don't mind paying a fair markup to them for their services. in this case I do plan to move my electronics over to the Duet combo and perhaps use the existing gear in the MaxV2 to build a small delta from scratch rather than go with another kit. but I see this as more of a plan for late spring or the summer. Bondtech from Sweden varies from most companies over seas that I have ordered from, they provide quality service and the last time I ordered from them they shipped it out very quickly and it took only slightly
longer than a week for me to receive what I ordered. If I can only obtain the part from China and I need it desperately then I will place the order but not happily. Let's face reality, not all but virtually all manufacturing
including electronics and electronics components are made in China but I will try my hardest to find them shipped from the good old USA.
