Nozzle size 0.7mm which max. print height ?

Hi

What kind of experiences do you have with a 0.7mm nozzle in layer height?

My experiences with a 0.5mm nozzle are 0.3mm height max.
Is 0.5mm layer height to much

I also guess it is vital to cool actively the stepper motor for the filament transport, if I will use a bigger nozzle.

Never used a 0.7mm nozzle, but as a general rule layer height must be < 80% of nozzle diameter and extrusion width >= nozzle diameter.
So with an 0.7mm nozzle:

Your maximum layer height is: 0.7*0.8 = 0.56mm
Your extrusion width should be 0.7mm or greater.

Hope it helps.

Hi.

Thank you.

Allright thats a fine rule.

What about cooling the motor of the filament extruder?
I think the pressure and the speed must be much higher.
The motor is still with a 0.5mm nozzle more than warm.

Yes, install one.
It's normal that they are hot to touch, but you should be able to leave your fingers there while printing.
If you can't then you will need to reduce your motor current via firmware. 50ºc is good, 80º no.

This is what I did.

It's a 40mm fan with a small heatsink.

You don't need to use bolts, it comes with some 3M tape.
