Hello, with questions

Post by ken cummings »

I live in Northern California wine country. I used a Bukito from Deezmaker until I wore it out. having spent more time keeping it going then printing I and the family accountant searched for an assembled Delta printer. Size was no matter as I enjoy taking the machine to a local eatery and printing stuff for the kids while I talk 3D printing with the adults. With my Orion printer The very first test print seemed a bit noisy compared to the Bukito yet popped off the glass plate nicely. Following test prints got harder and harder to remove. (yes I did a full zeroing and calibration before I started. Finally I removed the borosilicate plate, cleaned it, re-glue-sticked and started to calibrate again. Top setting then making the head just touch a piece of paper. When I thought I'd told it to go to the next step of calibration instead the head slammed down to the build plate and dragged, shuddering over towards one of the columns, (Front right). I tried starting all over again but when I started it would climb 10 centimeters then stop. It took several clicks to get it to the top. Further troubles I find hard to explain. I learned from my last machine that I was way past the time to call for help. HELP The FAQ pages seem to say I need to use a USB connection to a computer to do the top setting then have SeeMeCNC staff redo the Zero. My spouse is an experienced tech support expert and wants to tackle that part of the problem. This monologue is partly to record what I've done so far.

Welcome to the Forum!
We would normally answer questions like this but this printer has been factory aligned and is still new.
My advise is to get on the Seemecnc.com web site and there is a chat button on the first page near the bottom front, click this
and tech support should start to chat with you.
I you would troubleshoot this printer on this forum we can do that also but I would like Tech Support to handle ORION calibration issues.
If you have ANY problem with them fixing your printer leave us another message.
The one thing you should not do is calibrate an assembled ORION printer, calibration is done when it is shipped from the factory.
There are a couple of guides for the Orion that you should get and they are on the first screen under downloads. You should see
some manuals there for the ORION. If you call tech support and they have problems calibrating or whatever needs to done, make sure
you contact us again and place your message under the Orion subforum, we will not let you down and if I have too I will call your home
number to troubleshoot with you.

Thank you for the quick response!
That sound is me face-palming, because I didn't see anything about not calibrating my assembled printer!
I hope I can recover...
