I'm printing with abs it days either add a cooling fan or increase top layer higher. I thought it was frowned upon to print abs with a fan

You can use a fan with ABS, but you have to do it cautiously so that you don't warp and delaminate the layers.

Increasing the number of solid top layers would definitely be the first thing to try. Go for 3 as a general minimum.

Well this is my first try at 3d bench tug boat as a time lapse... i think its ok except for a few zits took about 100 min to print SeeMeCNC ABS midnight black 228 and 80c
There is a subtle wave pattern in the hull on the front side but the Z tower side is perfect not sure what causes that its there on the vader head I printed as well it is diagonal and repeats about every 6.8mm its hard to see unless side lit at the right angle
Grateful for any improvement tips on this one or the one I posed here http://forum.seemecnc.com/viewtopic.php?f=41&t=9573
Jim on the next one I will try the tips in this link you posted http://support.3dverkstan.se/article/23 ... ting-guide I found this post after i did the print
https://youtu.be/fOqN1PF930s
in the video the letters on the transom are almost visible what do i do to improve the detail there?
When I measured it up while the overall length is spot on as is the full hight the features are all slightly smaller than they should be so I guess finding out how to correct that is next
