Just built my V2

Hi all,
Got the coolest xmas prezzie and I'm in the process of calibrating now!
The build went very smoothly thanks to the excellent build manual. I think I have a bad LCD control panel though. The status display is fine and a can get to the menu by pressing the button, but button rotation does nothing. Also, the reset button does nothing and inserting an SD card causes a "resetting/e-stop" loop. I have an email to the support guys ...

I'll post some pics after my 1st print.
Looking forward to learning lots from this active and friendly community.

Check your ribbon cables very carefully.

Do not place cables based on orientation of the flat cable in relation to the connector body. The color stripe on the cable indicates which end of the connector holds pin #1. If you can't see a mark (#1 or dot or triangle) on the PCB showing where pin #1 is located, use the pictures in the manual. But pay attention only to which side of the cable has the color stripe.

Probably _one_ of the cables is reversed on one end. Once corrected, the knob should respond properly. The reset button is likely a whole separate issue. It is very difficult to get the finger of the acrylic cover to actuate the button on the PCB behind it. The angle is awkward. Best solution is to remove the acrylic cover and put something about 3mm thick on the back of the "fingertip". A piece of firm sticky-back foam works, or a small stick-on bumper foot is ideal. Some people use one of the small pieces of scrap melamine board that come out of the laser cut panels. I'd advise using doublestick tape to hold it in place. Could use glue, but some glues might fog the acrylic cover.

Thanks for all the replies guys.
I went and tried each possible connection arrangement. Most failed to even light up the LCD. I put it back to my original arrangement and it started working fine. SD card slot works, menu works. Reset button still not working. I can feel the button being depressed (the resistance to the pressure of my finger changes) but no reset. I'll try the the sticky little rubber bumper trick for that.
I guess I must have had the connector offset by a pin or something ...

I tried printing the fan shroud in PLA since that's all I have. turned out pretty well except there was a kink in the filament that I didn't see till there were already a few layers of air. I think it was pretty close to being done though. The part looks very usable and is 20mm tall. Just some slop on the overhangs. :D
